My Wrexham Art Project

The ‘My Wrexham’ Community Project is an arts and crafts project that aims to bring together community groups from all over Wrexham who are involved in everything from Youth groups and craft groups to sports clubs and community groups, to create art works that tell a story of ‘What they do, and the area they live’.
The art works can take any shape and form, and at present we have groups working on photo collages, local history scrap books, digital storytelling and traditional craft works. Once all of the art works have been completed, AVOW will hold an open day at Ty Avow in Egerton Street.
This year Wrexham will play host to the national eisteddfod of wales, and such an opportunity to welcome visitors to Wrexham with all of our works of art should not be missed! Art pieces shown at our open day will be judged by a panel and the winning piece will take pride of place on AVOW’s stall at this year’s eisteddfod.
If you are a community based group and have some good ideas for an art work that will tell all of the visitors to Wrexham about your local area and why it is important to you then get on board with the ‘My Wrexham’ community art project.
