AVOW is pleased to announce that a day of pre-booked appointments has been organised in collaboration with BBC Children in Need. The opportunity to access this very popular funding programme is open to voluntary and community groups that work with children and young people. Groups serving Wrexham Maelor County Borough will be able to apply for a half-hour appointment with Andrea Powell, BBC Children in Need grant officer to discuss the eligibility and potential of an application proposal. Groups that wish to apply should contact Marion Kelsall at AVOW on 01978 312556 or e-mail marion.kelsall@avow.org for an appointment time.

To apply for an appointment please forward an outline of your application proposal (no more than two sides of A4), preferably by e-mail, to marion.kelsall@avow.org or alternatively it can be posted to AVOW, 21 Egerton Street, Wrexham LL11 1ND. Places are limited and appointments will be on a first come first saved basis, therefore to ensure a place please submit your outline proposal as soon as possible.

BBC Children in Need supports groups that work with disadvantaged children and young people aged 18 years and under living in the UK - (groups that also work with people aged 19+ may also apply as long as the majority of their beneficiaries are aged 18 or under). Disadvantaged children and young people include those affected by: illness, distress, abuse or neglect, disability, behavioural or psychological impairment, living in poverty or situations of deprivation

Grants can be awarded for up to three years at a time. However, one year grants only are available for holidays and residentials.
