Children and Young People's Framework Partnership
The Children and Young People's Framework Partnership brings together a range of partners from a range of different agencies all of which are united in their determination to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families in Wrexham.
These partners include people from Wrexham Council, local Voluntary Organisations, the Local Health Board, the North East Wales Health Trust, the National Health Protection Service, the Police and the Probation Service.
In Wrexham County Borough the structure for the Partnerships consists of the following key elements:
- Children and Young People's Framework Partnership Board
- Children’s Partnership
- Young People’s Partnership;
- Four Strategic Co-ordinating Groups (SCOGs) (Learn and Achieve/ Safe from Harm/ Healthy and Active/ Enjoyment and Participation)
- and associated Task and Finish Groups where appropriate.
Every level of the structure consists of a multi agency membership reflecting the necessary expertise and decision makers at each level. For more information please see the Children and Young People's Framework Partnership website.
SO, HOW IS THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR CURRENTLY INVOLVED IN THE CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE'S FRAMEWORK PARTNERSHIP AND HOW CAN I BECOME INVOLVED?
The Voluntary Sector can become involved via their elected Voluntary Sector Representatives (please click to meet your voluntary sector representatives) which sit at every level of the Children and Young People's Framework Partnership and/ or by joining the Forum for Voluntary Organisations working for Children and Young People (Please click here to find out more information on the Forum).
As stated above every individual who sits on the Children and Young People's Framework Partnership is elected. The Forum for Voluntary Organisations working with Children and Young People facilitate the nomination and election process. For each meeting of the Children and Young People's Framework Partnership there is a terms of reference and person specification that the representative signs up to, and in return they have fully supported in order to fulfil their role by the Children and Young People's Development Officer. (Please click here to find out more about the meetings of the Children and Young People's Framework Partnership and expectations and support packages for Voluntary Sector Representatives).
HOW IS THE WIDER VOLUNTARY SECTOR KEPT UP-TO-DATE AND INFORMED ON THE WORK OF THE CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE'S FRAMEWORK PARTNERSHIP ?
There is an expectation on the Voluntary Sector Representatives to complete a brief meeting summary after each meeting, that is compiled into a bi-monthly meeting report (called the Voluntary Sector Common Briefing Report) by AVOW’s Children and Young People’s Development Officer to enable an effective communication and consultation mechanism is established with the wider voluntary sector. Copies of the bi-monthly meeting reports are available here.
Voluntary Sector Representatives are also expected to attend the bi-monthly Forum for Voluntary Organisations working with Children and Young People so that individuals/ organisations/ agencies can hear first-hand news from the Framework and raise any issues they may have. (Please see the Voluntary Organisations Forum section for more information)
There are also a number of vacancies for representatives of the voluntary sector on a number of the associated working groups of the Children and Young People's Framework Partnership, if you are interested in becoming a representative or would like further information please contact Laura Williams - Children and Young People’s Development Officer on 01978 318810 or by e-mailing laura.williams@avow.org
