Service user involvement is a partnership between AVOW and SMAT (Substance Misuse Action Team) to increase service user representation within drug and alcohol services in the county borough.

Service user involvement empowers service users and gives them the opportunity to have an active say in the services they receive and helps to improve services for them and future service users. It helps them to engage fully with their treatment and also helps service providers to meet their needs.

Service user involvement can be on many levels such as consultations, groups, representing other users, diversionary activities and peer led training plus a whole lot more.

Apart from working with different organisations we also run an advocacy service to provide help with any issues with regard to treatment and agencies they come into contact with.
