Here is a list of all the latest outings, trips and training available at Wrexham Carers Service

Please remember, you need to be registered with us before you can attend any of the events. To complete our registration questionnaire simply give us a ring and we can send one in the post or alternatively we can complete it over the phone with you.

We are all familiar with how the use of aids and adaptations can make daily lives easier at home. However, we are not all aware of how the use of different technologies within the home can also help support people to remain independent.

Join us when we take a tour of the Telecare Flat, showcased by Wrexham Council. We hope to learn more about a range of systems, including flood sensors, door alarms, light sensors and many more.

When: Tuesday 28th February 10am-11:30am & Friday 9th March 1pm - 2:30pm

Wrexham Carers Forum meets monthly and is open to all Carers; is attended by representatives of Wrexham Carers Service and invited guests. The Forum ensures the collective voice of Carers in Wrexham is heard through discussion of the experiences and issues faced by Carers in their every day lives.

The need for new members with their varied views and experiences is vital to ensuring the continual improvement of quality services in Wrexham.

Held in a friendly atmosphere, to which you would be very welcome, please join us to have your voice heard!!

The next dates for Wrexham Carers Forum meetings are:

· Wednesday 22nd February 2pm - 4pm @ AVOW

· Thursday 29th March 4:30pm - 6:30pm @ AVOW

· Tuesday 17th April 10:30am - 12:30pm @ AVOW

Bring along some memorable photographs and have fun creating a memory canvas!

Come along and create a fantastic memory canvas. Learn techniques in stamping and collaging and experiment with mixed media. Everyone will leave with a beautiful hand crafted canvas created by you!

Please bring along any photos, small personal items or material that you would like to include on your canvas, alternatively you can have a go with the materials provided by the tutor.

Please note you will need to book your place if you wish to attend!

When: Thursday 15th March 10-12pm or Tuesday 27th March 6-8pm

Parent Carer Support Group

Do you care for your son, daughter or grandchild?

If yes, then the Parent Carer Support Group is for you!

In conjunction with Plas Madoc Communities First Team we are now able to offer the Parent Carer Support Group. Come along and talk to other parent carers in a relaxed and friendly environment with a varied programme of activities and information talks planned for the group. If you would like any further information about the Parent Carer Support Group please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Carers Lunch

The Lunches are organised by Carers for Carers, and take place on the last Thursday of every month. Carers are invited to join the group for lunch and a chat. If you would like to attend but feel a little nervous about going for the first time, contact Wrexham Carers Service and one of us will be happy to accompany you. Please note Carers attending will have to cover the cost of their own lunch.

Young Adult Carer Group

Are you a carer aged 18-25 years old? If yes, you should come along to the Young Adult Carer Group. It's a chance to meet others in an informal, friendly and relaxed atmosphere...to date the group has visited a number of venues around Wrexham including The Squire York pub, Spavens Sweet Shop and the bowling alley!

The group has just been set-up so we are looking for new ideas about what we can do next; trips, talks etc, so please do not hesitate to get in touch or come along...the more the merrier!

The last Thursday of every month. Please contact for more information as sometimes dates/ times may change depending on activities.
