AVOW is run by a board of trustees. They are all volunteers and provide the strategic direction for the Charity.

Trustees of AVOW:

Margaret Bryden joined the Executive Committee of AVOW in 2005 and chairs the Volunteer Centre Advisory Group. Margaret was Group Advertisement Manager with North Wales Newspapers and prior to her retirement was Volunteers Manager at Nightingale House Hospice. Margaret has been a Trustee of the Wrexham Hospital League of Friends for 28 years and is currently their Chairman

Nick Colbourne is a retired North Wales Police officer and has previously served as a Wrexham County Councillor. He is a Trustee of Crossroads Care North Wales and Shelter Cymru. He also sits as an Advisory Panel member for a national mental healthcare organisation. Nick is a local JP serving upon the Wrexham & Flintshire Bench and is Company Secretary of AVOW

David Galley joined the Executive Committee of AVOW in October 2005. He was formerly Finance Director of Wrexham Maelor Hospital and also a partner in a Management Consultancy Partnership. He served as a Town Councillor and was a Trustee of a Swimming Pool and also a Housing Trust. He is a volunteer walk leader for U3A in Nantwich and keen on most sports.

Moira Jones joined the Executive Committee of AVOW in July 2007.

Mervyn Rosenberg was a Consultant Surgeon and Medical Director of Wrexham Maelor Hospital Trust. He has extensive knowledge of the local and national health sector. He is a member of the Social Services Appeals Tribunal for the Welsh Assembly. Mervyn has been an AVOW trustee for six years and is currently the Chair of AVOW.

Barbara Roxburgh was formerly a nurse and Youth & Community Worker for Clwyd & Cheshire County Councils. Before returning to live in Wrexham in 1989, she was Chief Officer for Voluntary Action Cumbria, based at Whitehaven. A founder member of Caia Park Partnership Ltd and formerly its Company Secretary, she is currently employed by Wrexham Tenants Federation. She is also a Community Councillor, School Governor and is active in a wide variety of charitable and community groups and issues.

Wendy Smith is a retired Deputy Head Teacher who has been actively involved with a number of voluntary organisations. Until recently she was a director and Company Secretary of a pharmaceutical and health care consultancy company.

Gail Thomas trained and worked as a Registered Nurse in Bangor in the 1980's. In the late 1990's she joined the then Gwynedd Health Authority and began to work in the area of partnerships and joint planning with the voluntary sector and local authorities. She has been an AVOW Trustee since 2006 and is currently Vice Chair. Her interests are gardening, walking and jazz.

Rosemarie Williams works as liaison officer for National Mind across North Wales, having previously worked as Chief Officer of Caia Park Partnership Ltd and in Local Authority Social Services and Education Departments. Rosemarie also works with a team of young people in Wrexham, developing an advocacy service "Second Voice". She likes tap dancing and has a great sense of humour.

John Carr is involved in a number of Voluntary Organisations, including Chariotts, Wrexham Disability Forum and Wrexham Access. John is a member of Wrexham NEWT Public & Patient Involvement Group and is a non-voting observer at AVOW meetings.

Geoff Lang, Chief Officer of the LHB joined the Executive Committee as observer in 2005.

Councillor Joan Lowe joined the Executive Committee as Wrexham County Borough Council Observer in 2008.

Chris Jones joined the Executive Committee of AVOW as an Observer in 2005.
