Wrexham Volunteer Centre

The Volunteer Centre is able to provide you with all the information you need to enable you to make an informed choice about volunteering.


  • Millennium Volunteer
    • Millennium Volunteers (MV) is a programme that has been running since 1998 and in Wales it has helped over 14,500 young people across the country achieve recognition for volunteering in over a 1,000 different organisations. MV also runs in Scotland and Northern Ireland and in England the ‘V’ initiative uses the same key principles as MV.
  • Volunteer Star Awards
    • The aim of the programme is to reward and recognise the effort and time spent by volunteers volunteering in the Wrexham County Borough.
  • Volunteer Recruitment Sessions
    • Held on the first Tuesday of every month from 10:00am until 11:30am at Ty Avow, 21 Egerton Street, Wrexham, LL11 1ND

Gwanwyn Community Grant Scheme

Gwanwyn is a month-long national festival held across Wales in May each year celebrating creativity in older age.



The festival operates a community grants scheme offering sums of up to £500 to enable groups all over Wales to organise an event, or a series of events, for the festival in 2015. All kinds of groups can participate,.(choirs, care homes, community groups, art, dance and theatre groups, writers clubs...) The scheme can support a range of exhibitions, events and performances all over the country.



In 2013 over 65 groups participated in events involving over 9000 people.



Applications are now open with the deadline for submission on Friday 5th December 2014.

Change Step - A Peer Mentoring Service for Military Veterans

Change Step is a CAIS led and DACW managed peer mentoring and advice service. This service is for for military veterans and others with post traumatic stress disorder and a range of psychosocial problems who want to make positive changes to their lives.



The service is delivered by veterans for veterans and aims to support those seeking help for problems encountered as a result of military or operational duty. The programme offers peer support, training opportunities and signposting to relevant health and welfare services.
