Flu vaccine awareness-raising e-learning course for staff

Welsh Government has agreed to make free flu vaccinations available to frontline volunteers in the Third Sector.

It is necessary to register each individual on the standard PHW course - To begin this process, please e-mail phw.immslearning@wales.nhs.uk with your (or your staff members') name(s) and place of work. Once you have a registration code, you can enter it on the following e-learning page: www.wales.nhs.uk/immslearning

Registration will provide you with additional access to several other useful online modules as well. Here are some additional links to short training videos which encourage NHS and social care staff to have a vaccination: http://www.nhsemployers.org/case-studies-and-resources/2013/09/flu-fighter-videos

GPs have been notified that they can expect frontline volunteer workers to come to them for free flu vaccinations. It is expected that the parent Third Sector organisation will provide a worker with a letter for the GP stating that their duties make it necessary for them to access the free jab. If surgeries have any difficulty with this, please let me or you local PHW (Public Health Wales) representatives know.
