Third Sector is a term for the range of organisations including voluntary and community organisations, registered charities and associations, self-help groups and community groups, social enterprises, mutuals and co-operatives, also known as the Charity Sector or Community and Voluntary Sector. AVOW will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the development of individuals and organisations within the voluntary and community sectors<\/li>\n<li>Establish and sustain good practice<\/li>\n<li>Undertake the provision of services appropriate to the voluntary and community sectors<\/li>\n<li>Consult, represent and champion the voluntary and community sectors locally and nationally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>AVOW was established in 1988 and is a registered Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>What is a County Voluntary Council (CVC)?<\/h3>\n<p>CVCs support the local voluntary and community sector, whilst WCVA has a national remit.
