{"id":193413,"date":"2023-01-24T15:20:33","date_gmt":"2023-01-24T15:20:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/avow.org\/?p=193413"},"modified":"2023-11-05T19:15:29","modified_gmt":"2023-11-05T19:15:29","slug":"residential-breaks-for-disadvantaged-young-people-england-wales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.avow.org\/residential-breaks-for-disadvantaged-young-people-england-wales\/","title":{"rendered":"Residential Breaks for Disadvantaged Young People (England &#038; Wales)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Schools and community groups looking to offer breaks for disadvantaged young people and families can apply for support for a residential stay in England and Wales.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The funding, which is made available through the Youth Hostel Association\u2019s Breaks Programme, can be used towards payment for a school residential trip for any individual or group of young people who are experiencing disadvantage including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Homelessness<\/li>\n<li>Disability<\/li>\n<li>Long-term illness<\/li>\n<li>Bereavement<\/li>\n<li>Other circumstances that limit children\u2019s opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications are currently being accepted from school groups in the alternative provision sector of education, along with special schools that are interested in taking pupils on a residential break from primary school to secondary school.
