The Plas Madoc Parent Carers group is a group that has been developed to offer support and advice to parents who have a child with a disability.
The primary aim of the group is to bring parents together who have a mutual understanding of their situation and the difficulties involved when raising a child with a disability. The group is very informal and provides an opportunity for parents to socialise with other parents and to talk about any issues worrying them. It is also a chance to gain information on services available. Outside agencies attend the group on a regular basis to offer informative talks on the services they provide. Examples of agencies that have attended include Parent Partnership, Cerebra, Jiwsi, and the Open University.
The group meets every Thursday at the Opportunity Centre Plas Madoc from 10.30a.m. -12.30p.m.
