Each and every one of us is feeling the squeeze of the cost of living crisis right now, and money is extremely tight. However, did you know that you don’t have to give your own money to make a difference? Your everyday online purchases can raise much-needed funds for your organisation without costing you a penny!
The following websites are ways that you can donate to your organisation – when shopping for yourself, your family, or even when making purchases on behalf of work – you can truly make a difference! Whatever you purchase, your organisation will only receive your name and how much you have raised.
1. Shop with Give as You Live
Give as you Live lists more than 5,500 retailers who clearly and transparently tell you, as a customer, exactly what percentage or value they will donate to your organisation. There is a vast range of businesses on the website; such as Tesco, Not on the High Street, Pets at Home and Argos, along with holiday and utility companies! They also include comparison sites such as Compare the Market and USwitch.
To raise funds, register with Give as You Live and choose your organisation as your selected charity. When you shop, just go on the Give as you Live website or app, find the retailer you want, and make your purchase! Refer a friend to Give as You Live and they will donate an additional £5 for the first £5 your friend raises!
2. Shop on AmazonSmile
Do you shop with Amazon? AmazonSmile has the same products, same prices and services as regular Amazon, except AmazonSmile donates 0.5 % to your organisation once you are signed up!
3. Sell on eBay
If you sell goods on eBay, you can choose to give a percentage of your sale price to your chosen organisation! Even better, eBay will waiver their seller fees pro rata to your donation: So, if you give 75% of the sale price, eBay waives 75% of their fees! Simply list your item, choose the organisation and the percentage you want to donate, and three weeks after your item sells, PayPal will send your donation to your chosen organization.
Simple! Now all you need to do is ensure your organization is listed with each of the three providers above and then pass on this information to as many of your staff, volunteers, Trustees, donors and supporters as possible – and don’t forget posting on all social media channels!
