Introduction
The Wrexham Community Lottery is a an incredible local way to fundraise for your favourite local charity or good cause. Over the year, the lottery raises over 12 thousand pounds for local good causes. All of that money going directly into the local area, into the causes that people care about the most.
How it works
Head over to the website for Wrexham Community Lottery (https://www.wrexhamcommunitylottery.co.uk/). Click the ‘Play’ button, and you will see a long list of charities that you can support. Everything from the ‘Central Community Fund’, through to Given To Shine, and on to Ruabon Rovers FC. You can see what each of those good causes about, and choose the one that you want to support.
The charity you chose to support directly gets half of your ticket money. It may not seem like much from your £1 ticket, but it really adds up.
Finding the results
The draw takes place every Saturday, and the results are posted online at https://www.wrexhamcommunitylottery.co.uk/results. There you can see the various prizes people that are signed up through the community lottery have won, and the good causes that they support.
The Big Difference
The difference between the Community Lottery and other lotteries is that the money goes directly to a good cause. No need to go for grants, no need to put together a project. The money is delivered directly to them.
The Community Fund
The community fund is a fund that comes to AVOW itself. That money is then used to fund grants and other forms of support for local charities. 10% of the ticket goes to AVOW to help fund the ongoing work of AVOW, supporting the work the work of charities in the local area.
